The Secret of the Metal Separator (Internal Shield/Separator)
Unlike inexpensive connectors that are all plastic, this internal metal separator performs critical functions:

1. Elimination of ANEXT (Alien Crosstalk)
In dense installations (like a patch panel in a data center), connectors are close together. The metal separator acts as an individual Faraday cage. It prevents signals from one connector from "contaminating" its neighbor, which is vital if you want to maintain stable speeds without packet loss.

2. Pair Management (AX Termination)

SPECIFICATION
The connector shall meet the electrical transmission requirements at the channel and component levels described in ANSI/TIA-568.2 (Cat. 6), ISO/IEC 11801-1 (Class E), and EN 50173-1 (Class E). The connector shall comply with ANSI/TIA-1096-A, be c(UL)us listed, and have undergone independent verification to ensure its electrical transmission and power delivery performance. All plastics used in the connector's construction shall be flame-retardant with a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. The connector shall allow for tool-less termination and re-termination and shall not require a specialized termination tool. The modular connector shall fit a variety of field-configurable telecommunications wall plates, outlets, patch panels, and patch blocks. The connector wiring shall be universal to accommodate T568A and T568B wiring schemes. The connector shall be compatible with interchangeable icons. The connector must comply with IEEE 802.3 PoE Type 1, 2, 3, and 4 (maximum 100 watts).
