Detecfire Limit 2x2.50 Shielded (AS+) RF120 LSH0 Cpr Cca
This is a high-performance cable specifically designed for fire detection and alarm systems. It is not a standard electrical cable; it is designed to ensure that, in the event of a fire, the system continues to function long enough to save lives.
Construction and Dimensions 2x2.50: Indicates that the cable has two internal conductors, each with a cross-sectional area of 2.50 mm². This cross-section is relatively large for detection, allowing for longer distances without signal voltage drop.
Shielding: The cable includes a foil (usually aluminum/polyester) that surrounds the conductors. Its function is to protect the signal from external electromagnetic interference, ensuring that there are no false alarms.
Fire Resistance (The Key Point) AS+: This stands for "High Safety +". It is the designation for cables that not only do not propagate fire, but also maintain electrical service during a fire.
RF120: This is the fire resistance certification. It indicates that the cable can maintain its integrity and continue functioning for 120 minutes under direct fire exposure. It is the most demanding standard to guarantee safe evacuation.
Chemical Behavior and Smoke LSZH (or LSH0): Low Smoke Zero Halogen. If the cable burns:
It does not release toxic or corrosive gases (protecting people and electronic equipment).
It produces clear smoke, allowing emergency lights and evacuation exits to be seen.
European Standard (CPR) CCA: This is the classification according to the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Class CCA is one of the highest for building cables, typically required in "public access buildings" (hospitals, shopping centers, tunnels) due to its excellent fire resistance.
This cable is the "lifeline" of an installation. It is mandatory for:
Connecting smoke detectors to the fire alarm control panel.
